DevOps Engineer

The thrill of creating new.

We’re a bunch of game veterans with some 90+ titles on the resume, thanks to values that put mentoring over dictating, curiosity over experience, and diversity over uniformity.

Now we’re building an original game with a team of people driven to excellence, eager to have a voice and create something they’ll be proud of forever.

This is where you come in.

We’re looking for talent, new to the game or grizzled vets like us, known for your curiosity.

Today, we’re looking for a DevOps Engineer, but we’ll soon be seeking other awesome folks across all disciplines; we’re just a toddler, growing every day, enjoying trying out new things and stumbling into great new ideas along the way.

Curious to hear about what excites you, find us here: becurious@supernaturalstudios.com

What you'll own

  • Design, develop, and improve CI/CD strategy to optimize overall productivity.

  • Explore all aspects of holistic solution development, including risk mitigation, threat modelling, workflow optimization/automation, performance analysis, monitoring, anomaly detection, test planning, etc.

  • Collaborate with developers and QA to enhance game services and associated source control, build, test, and deployment automation, emphasizing cost-effective scalability, maintainability, and responsive analytics.

What you'll bring

  • You’ll be comfortable with the development, operation, and improvement of stable large-scale online services. This sort of comfort would come from working a few years in this area and after a degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or Software Design, but we’re happy to meet you if you’ve gotten there by other means.

  • Familiarity with multiple cloud ecosystems, e.g. AWS, Azure, GCP, and common telemetry, monitoring, and visualization solutions (e.g. Superset, Splunk, Datadog). And you understand that none of these are Pokémon.

  • Experience managing Linux VMs, Docker containers and registries, Kubernetes pods, across independent service environments (e.g. playtesting vs. production).

  • Results oriented, proactive, and motivated for continuous improvement, adaptation, reflection, and growth.

  • Strong design and communication skills with a willingness to guide others in this area.

  • Up to date understanding of security/privacy, including AuthN/AuthZ, GDPR, COPPA standards, implications of inter-service dataflow, monitoring solutions, test methodologies, and attack counter-measures.

What would be handy to have

  • Experience with cloud gaming services, e.g. Stadia, and common gaming backend platforms, e.g. PlayFab.

  • Experience with in-memory databases.
